Fiction is literature in the form of prose that describes imaginary events and characters. Its sub-genres range from mystery and horror to fantasy and science fiction, but common factors that make any genre of fiction truly stand out are: a poignant message, layered characters, and an interesting plot.

Any type of fiction will be considered, and we would like for you to be as creative as possible. This is your chance to showcase your imagination and unique ideas
As we are a school organization, we cannot publish any work that is too graphic or that in general is not school appropriate, so please keep this in mind when brainstorming and/or writing.
If you wish, your name can remain anonymous or your work can appear underneath a pseudonym.
As a new feature this year, we are accepting submissions written in foreign languages (mainly Spanish, French, and German). All the same guidelines apply to these submissions. If you have any questions, please let us know.
General Advice:
Focus on your voice and writing style, as those signify advanced writing.
If you're submitting a section of a larger piece, make sure the reader doesn't need too much background information to explain the context.
Check for grammatical and spelling errors before submitting, which will help not distract from the main themes of your writing. A good option to get help with grammar would be making an appointment with one of the tutors in the Writing Lab, so you can get feedback on your piece and also better understand any grammar issues you might have.
